BOWL Invitational Tournament Fundraiser Tournament Rules
- The ICE BOWL Fund Raising Tournament
is not an USBC sanctioned tournament but will abide by USBC rules.
The tournament is a mixed handicap competition open to men and women
by invitation only.
- All participants must be a member of
USBC and be able to provide proof of membership (current sanctioned
card or signed statement from league secretary verifying membership).
- The event shall be a handicap event.
- Each participant shall bowl five (5)
games on Saturday. Teams will consist of four (4) members
comprising any combination of men and women. Men and women
will compete on an equal basis. Doubles partners must come
from the same team.
- The format of the event will be as
follows: Five games of 9 pin No-Tap. Games for singles,
doubles and team events will be determined randomly. Each
bowler will be assigned a color to determine which games quality for
each event.
- Each participant may bowl only once
in each event.
- Prizes will be distributed via US
currency at the end of Saturday's tournament. A tie in any
position will result in the sum of the prizes being aggregated for
the tied positions and divided equally by the number of ties for
that placing. No trophies will be awarded.
- Any bowler entering the ICE BOWL Fund
Raising Tournament must establish a ten-pin average acceptable to USBC.
The following rules shall be used to determine the entering average:
- The highest 06/07 book average with
a minimum of 21 games. If competing in more than one league,
the bowler MUST submit the HIGHEST AVERAGE of all leagues bowled.
- USBC Rules 319a does not apply.
- If no 05/06 book average has been set,
use the highest final 2005 summer league average, minimum 21 games,
providing the summer league meets USBC criteria.
- If none of the above is available,
then the entering average shall be 225.
- The above averages MUST be verified
by the use of League standing sheet letter from League Secretary
or photocopy of book average signed and dated by League Officer.
- The handicap for the tournament shall
be based at 80% of the difference between the bowler's entering
average (as determined above) and a scratch score of 225.
- The tournament director(s) have the authority
to adjust the entering average of any bowler. Average adjustments
will be applied as set forth under USBC rules. All average adjustments
will be completed prior to the start of the tournament. A bowler
unwilling to accept an average adjustment is entitled to a full refund.
- The entry fee is payable by money order
or certified check. The deadline is July 25, 2006 and should be
made payable to ICE BOWL Invitational Tournament. Entries are

be sent by e-mail only
Entries shall be limited to a maximum of
100 bowlers. Once this maximum has been reached, no more entries
can be accepted. Entrants' acceptance will be based on the order
in which received. Partial team entries will be accepted and the
tournament director(s) will make every effort to fill vacancies.
